Roofing Project
Getting your roof replaced is always a tedious task. You must find the best roofer with an affordable price, buy the correct amount of replacement shingles for the roof and lastly, dispose of all those old shingles that were replaced. Yet where you throw away the shingles is another factor to pay attention to.
Here's Some Options
Option 1: Haul It Off In A Pick Up Truck
If you have a pick up truck you can simply load it up and take it a Construction Debris landfill. They normally charge you by the weight that you have. This is a simple and easy way to get rid of shingles because you are in complete control of what landfill you would like to haul it off to and you are also paying for the disposal yourself. Yet one downside of this is that shingles are very heavy and might not fit completely on your pick up truck.
Option 2: Ask Your Roofer
Your roofer has great experience with the disposal of shingles and so it doesn't hurt to ask if they can actually dispose of it for you! Your roofer will most likely buy a dumpster and have it placed on your driveway close to the house so they can dump the shingles directly from the roof. Another way your roofer might dispose of the shingle is to also haul it to a landfill themselves.
Option 3: Get A Dumpster
Last but not least is to rent a dumpster yourself. This can save time for you and the roofer as your dumpster would be delivered in perfect timing so the job can get done without the worry of having to dispose of the shingles! With a dumpster rental, your dumpster would be hauled away for you and dumped at a CD landfill. For the amount of squares of shingles you have, it would go in a dumpster that can accept that amount
Example:
08-16 squares of shingles will go inside of a 10 yard dumpster with 2 tons
40-45 squares of shingles will go inside of a 15 yard with 6 tons
To Wrap It All Up
At the end of the day, the most simple and convienant route is the best route to go. Hauling off waste yourself can be difficult and time consuming yet with a dumpster the job is taken of for you.
